Hi All,

Has anyone heard from Lyn W as to how she is and if she is better in her netrofil level. I do hope she does not have to go down the bone marrow route. Sending Love and Best Wishes for a speedy recovery. Lorna xx Smile

Hi Lorna

I spoke to Lyn very briefly on Thursday (I think it was Thusday!). As you may know, she is secretary of the school PTA and, as her twins are both off to uni this year, she is handing over the reigns and trying to tie up all the loose ends before the end of term. I'm sure she is doing far too much but Lyn is Lyn!!!

Her outlook isn't wonderful just now. The neutrophil levels are still dropping and she is far from well. She is still hoping the bone marrow transplant is a way off but, as she said "it isn't looking good".

She'll be on the forum aagain as soon as she sorts all the bits and pieces out and in the meantime, sends her love to her forum friends.

Love Jeanxxxx

Lots of love to Lyn - please tell her I`m thinking of her, and missing her pearls of wisdom! I hope she`ll still be able to go on holiday to Cyprus.

Thanks Jean, I'm feeling very concerned for Lyn, do hope she can get some respite from both her condition and extra duties very soon.

Please give her my best wishes if you speak again.

Hoping you are OK too? Long time since we were in touch but I think of you and Steve often.

Take care,
Love Liz

Hello Everyone!

Thank you so much Lorna for starting this thread and to you all for thinking about me; it has only been a few weeks but I have missed you Smile

I'm still feeling quite rough but don't know whether it's down to the neutropenia, the RA, the university visits or the school stuff. Probably trying to do far too much of everything and a fair bit of general frustration to boot!! But heyho, life's far too short without getting down about it.

Ian and Jake don't actually leave college until 2011 but university visits have to start now because the application process for next year's intake begins in September. With two of them wanting to do different things in different places you will appreciate the work involved traipsing round the counties! Ian wants to do Mathematics and Jake's choice is Biomedical Science. Each student can apply for up to 5 universities and it is our choice to visit those we are able. I don't fancy them trying to make decisions that will affect their futures from a prospectus or website. In reality some places are not quite what they appear on paper!

Louis still has another year in school, the all important final GCSE year, although so much is modular these days and quite a bit of work has already been completed. In effect I will be Secretary of the school PTA until April next year. That said, lack of staff support and general unpleasantness from certain staff may have me throwing in the towel long before then!! I've made an appointment with the Head for Tuesday; one can take only so much!

I will catch up with my health news over the weekend!

Thank you all again
Love
Lyn x
My son, Ian, completed the BUPA Great North Run on 15th September running for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS). You can read his story at http://www.justgiving.com/ianlukewilson

Wow Lyn - you are doubly busy! Glad your boys have an idea of what they want to do! Katharine is also Y12 and is still in an endless tizzy but my heart sank this week when she said she would like to look at Durham!

You are doing amazingly well to cope with being unwell, traipsing all round the place with the boys AND juggling the fragile, combustible place that is school in July!!! Everyone is tense, snappy and need stuff doing, NOW. Good luck!! Look forward to hearing how you have been the past few weeks and how you get on on Tuesday XX Ailsa

Lyn - don't take any crap (scuse the language) from the head. You have done loads and loads for the school and need support right now not criticism. I'm sure Jenni will get her red boots on and drive down in her velvet bulldozer if there are too many problems! I'll be right behind her in the wheeled commode!

(Have e-mailed)

Hi Lyn,

Lovely to hear from you. I don't envy you doing double university visits, I found it hard enough with only one child looking!
I think when you go to meet the Head on Tuesday you should wear the tiara and carry the wand, and you could take the scissors too and offer him/her a haircut!Scared
Hope things calm down for you soon.

Love and hugs, Doreen xx
